Be the Change. II

You know Ghandi said: “ Be the change you want to see in the world”, and, though, not many people will probably read this, I don’t care, because If I want to see change I don’t need to sit back silently, any longer, and hope.  I have to put my word, my views, out there for whoever may in-fact read this.

What do I want to see change in…?

An array of different things but I am starting with a topic near and dear to my heart….

Ponder this people

Last year alone: 1.8 Million lives were taken by this.

That means 1 out of 3, are killed from this.

Is this something that can be prevented? Hell Yeah it can!

Well how much can in be prevented? Well …..that 1.8 Million Lives taken, number, can be reduced by 1.8 Million!

Since the 60’s over 40 Million, yes 40 million lives were taken by this act.

Yes I’m speaking of Abortion….

Now I’m not writing this blog to bash anyone who has had an abortion, nor will I look down upon you for indeed having one, however, I am writing this blog because I want change.  A baby is created at conception, period!  So when young-people, often teenagers, realize that they have became pregnant in a panic they seem to, only thinking of theirself, rush off to abort a life.  Make no mistake about it….That life, when aborted, was just indeed that, A LIFE!  And when an abortion happens, that life is murdered, taken, never given a chance.  I’m from the belief that everyone should be given a chance at life, and it strikes me as eerily ironic and odd that people who have been given a chance to live (the mother) decide to take away the same freedom to their unborn child.

We live in America, the land of the free and home of the brave.  Hold on let me back up and say that again: “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE”.  Now I do not take those words lightly, at all.  We all, as American, believe in Human Rights, believe in Freedom, and absolutely love the freedom we have, however, when a Woman chooses to Abort a child, she takes away the Freedom of that baby, and by no means is she brave by doing-so.

Land of the free and home of the brave?

Well if you believe that, then act on it.  Because the free thing would be to give the unborn, yet living, baby a chance on Planet Earth–the Brave thing would be to go through with the pain, go through with the discomfort, and deliver this child, though you may have other feelings.

There are couples, abroad, that are not able to have babies.

There are couples, abroad, who have great home, great lives, who are very loving, and are just dying (the right way) to have a baby of their own.

So when I hear the otherside of the argument, no matter what it is, for why Abortion should remain legal and it isn’t ‘THATTTT’ bad of a thing, I can’t get past the one thing smacking me in the face, and that is that there are Adoption-Avenues out-there, for Women who feel unready to have and take care of a baby.

It is plain and simple, if you laid down to do the act to create this child, it isn’t the unborn babie’s fault that you made a mistake.  That child would be born unbeknownst to how she was created, only that there is a world out there with a whole lot to learn.

To the women whose self-respect and dignity was taken away by being raped, I apologize.  There is only one  thing more cruel, in my opinion, than to be raped, and that is to be murdered (abortion-included).  On the other hand, though, if you were or are raped and become impregnated, again, I’m still for giving everyone a chance.  That baby would be born unbeknownst to how it was created…….The Free thing, again, would to let this child be born.  The Brave thing would be, to go through what all you had and have to go through knowing you were raped, to give life to an already growing life in your body.

So I have said my piece….but am not at peace with where Abortion is right now.  Three-Thousand lives are being stolen and murdered every single day, and I won’t shut up speaking out, I won’t stop fighting and attempting to change something I am so passionate about….

And that is exactly…what I am going to do……

Be the Change.

Ghandi said be the change you want to see in the world and something I feel strongly about, wanting to see a change in is…

Racism.

  • You make an appointment to see a vacant apartment but the manager takes one look at you and says it is no longer available. A week later the sign is still up.

  • While speaking with friends in your native language, another student hisses “Go back where you came from.” His buddies give him high-fives.

  • Your co-workers use racial slurs as though they are a harmless form of slang. You want to speak up but are afraid of being ostracized.

  • The police pull you over in a neighborhood where no one looks like you. They’re suspicious, they say, because “this car is too nice to be yours.”

  • Your new braids draw stares and snide comments from other employees. Your boss says to get rid of them or lose your job.

  • You are dining out and wonder why no one has come to take your order. You don’t want to over-react, but then you see the waiter serving people who arrived after you.

  • Cab drivers refuse to drive to your neighborhood at night- and you can forget about ordering a pizza.

To me, however, this is a double-edged sword.  Racism effects any and all races.  Racism can come from any race and can be directed towards any other race as well.

    So what can we do…..?

Ending or fighting the fight against racism starts with me, it starts with you, it starts with all of us.  Again, this is not something we can just put a law against.  It starts with human beings putting aside any inhibitions against the opposite race and starting to look at each other solely as, just that, human beings!

We, as Americans, are all equal.  We all walk on planet earth as equals.  The remarks that we make either behind someones back or in front of each other, have an affect on one another.  They hurt.  They pain. They Scare. They Scar. They disrupt. They have a ripple-effect outwards that does further damage and further causes hostility between races.

This post is not directed solely to White people.  It isn’t directed towards Black people, asian people, hispanic people, it is directed toward all people.  No one has a proverbial race-card that should be allowed to be pulled out of their back pocket at anytime.  Each and every human being needs to start first and foremost inside theirself and stop the callous, uncalled-for remarks, that knowingly will hurt someone’s self-respect.

The saying, “Can’t we all get along?” is much easier said than done.  But one thing that is easier done than said, is to refrain from unneeded comments, snoddy remarks, looking down upon someone that doesn’t have the same color as yourself.  That is much easier done than said, because all it takes, people, is a refrain from saying and doing things against other human-beings that have done nothin wrong towards yourself.

Ending racism begins with one conversation at a time.  So if I have changed one persons outlook on the things they might say aloud, then I feel I have started a conversation.

    Let us continue the conversation…

And end one of the most senseless things going on in America…

    RACISM!
